I sketched my tomato plant while Mike was out biking ... and then received a phone photo from son Steve showing me his apartment sized vegetable garden in Boston. It had a prominent tomato plant. His is an Heirloom tomato, befitting its location next to an old redbrick building in Boston; mine is a hybrid determined to beat the odds of over and underwatering by an amateur gardener. We'll see who gets tomatoes first!

What great incentive! I always love a little healthy competition. I've found that lots of people say use miracle grow... you get big beautiful healthy plants but not nearly as many tomatoes. Just a thought from another amateur gardener.
I especially like the left drawing! (Wish it was bigger so I could see more detail.)
