What a Rose-y Day

The Rose Garden; Painters in the background
Start with a pencil sketch

Midland Outdoor Painters met today in the Rose Garden of Dow Gardens.

I was the only watercolorist amongst oil painters ... but I was quite pleased with my results.

I submitted it to the Still LIfe Challenge.

Book for Elaine

I worked on a sketchbook while on a trip to Florida with my friend Elaine. Unfortunately the trip did not work out quite the way we planned and she spent part of it in the Emergency Room at Cape Canaveral Hospital. I did a lot of drawings to pass the time.

Mark B Hill's Bamboo

I have been following the progress of Mark's envelope project ever since I was lucky enough to be the recipient of one ... and his bamboo really caught my eye. I have a brand new black ink pen and I sure hope Mark feels that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery since this is simply copied from his site here.

Not sure if I will add color or leave it as it is ...

Midland Outdoor Painters

My blog has been sorely neglected since the crash of my computer ... but my drawing has not. I attended the Midland Outdoor Painters meetup on Saturday and created this sketch ...

It was incredibly cold for early June, I was wearing my heavy handknit sweater and a jacket!
